h1. MDS Dark Theme — Releases

Source: repository mds-dark (@/srv/git/mds-dark.git@ on dmz-web). Full per-version change log: source:mds-dark|mds-dark/VERSION.txt. How the theme works (menus, templates, ACF, Polylang): source:mds-dark|mds-dark/MENUS-AND-SYSTEM.md.

Versions before 1.8.1 exist only in @VERSION.txt@.

h3. Do not install

• 1.8.2 / 1.8.3 — built by mistake from the outdated 1.8.1 package. They do not contain 1.9.0–1.13.0. Never released.

h2. Release procedure

All commands run as root on dmz-web, inside @/root/mds-dark@.

Make the change. Bump the version in @mds-dark/style.css@ (@Version:@) and @mds-dark/functions.php@ (@MDS_THEME_VERSION@), and add an entry at the top of @mds-dark/VERSION.txt@.¶

Stamp the version on the theme screenshot:¶

cd mds-dark && python3 inc/tools/stamp-screenshot-version.py X.Y.Z && cd ..

Commit, tag, push. Reference the release issue in the commit message:¶

Build the installable package from the tag:¶

git archive -o /root/mds-dark-X.Y.Z.zip vX.Y.Z mds-dark

Upload the zip to Files (and attach it to the release issue). Add a row to the table above.¶

Install on WordPress: Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme > "Replace current with uploaded". Check the version on the theme thumbnail.¶

h2. Conventions

• Version scheme: major.minor.patch. Minor = new behavior, patch = fixes / text only.
• Tag = @v@ + version (e.g. @v1.15.1@). Package = @mds-dark-.zip@, always built from the tag with @git archive@, never by hand.
• Release zips are not stored in the repository, only in Files.
• Before editing, always confirm the base version (thumbnail stamp or @VERSION.txt@).
